Salad Ingredients:

  • 1 medium red onion thoughtfully peeled and finely diced, providing a vibrant and pungent flavor to the salad.
  • 1 head of purple cabbage meticulously chopped into vibrant and purple-hued shreds, adding a crunchy and slightly peppery element to the salad.
  • 6 hearts of romaine lettuce skillfully selected and roughly chopped into bite-sized pieces, offering a crisp and refreshing base for the salad.
  • 3 cups of nish nosh crackers carefully hand-crushed into delightful and crispy pieces, adding a unique and satisfying crunch to the salad.
  • 3 cups of plump cherry tomatoes meticulously halved to reveal their juicy and sweet flesh, adding bursts of vibrant color and refreshing taste to the salad.

Salad Dressing Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice thoughtfully extracted from ripe and juicy lemons, adding a bright and citrusy note to the dressing.
  • 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil thoughtfully pressed from the finest olives, providing a fruity and robust flavor to the dressing.
  • 1 cup of creamy mayonnaise meticulously made from high-quality eggs and pure vegetable oil, adding a rich and velvety texture to the dressing.
  • A pinch each of salt and freshly ground black pepper meticulously measured to taste, enhancing the flavors of the dressing with their well-rounded seasoning.
  • 8 tablespoons of golden brown sugar carefully measured and dissolved, infusing the dressing with its subtle and caramel-like sweetness.
  • 4 teaspoons of premium Dijon mustard or regular mustard skillfully blended with aromatic spices and vinegar, providing a tangy and zesty kick to the dressing.
  • 2 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce carefully brewed to preserve its savory and umami-rich flavors, offering a delightful depth to the dressing.
  • 4 cloves of garlic skillfully peeled and finely minced, releasing their pungent and aromatic notes that elevate the overall flavor profile of the dressing.

  • Gather together the freshly chopped romaine lettuce hearts, nish nosh crackers, cherry tomatoes, finely sliced purple cabbage and diced red onion into a large bowl.
  • In a separate small container, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, minced garlic cloves, lemon juice, soy sauce, olive oil and brown sugar to form the dressing.
  • Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients and give them a gentle mix until everything is evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

- If you don't have nish nosh crackers, try substituting them with croutons or tortilla chips.
- Make sure to use low-sodium soy sauce to keep the dish from getting too salty.
- For an extra kick, add some diced jalapenos or other spicy peppers to the salad.
