  • measuring spoon
  • knife
  • Cookie Sheet

Ingredients

  • 1 package of active dry yeast This magical ingredient is responsible for the dough's rise creating light and airy bread. The yeast activates when combined with warm water and sugar, resulting in fluffy and perfectly leavened dough.
  • 1.5 cups water The water is necessary for activating the yeast and forming the dough. It hydrates the ingredients and helps them come together to create a cohesive and workable mixture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt This humble seasoning adds depth and enhances the overall flavor of the bread. It balances the sweetness from the sugar and brings out the natural taste of the other ingredients.
  • 1.5 eggs you can beat two eggs and use half of it The eggs add richness and moisture to the dough, contributing to a tender and flavorful texture. Using half of the beaten eggs ensures just the right amount of binding without overwhelming the other flavors.
  • 1.5 tablespoons oil The oil adds moisture and tenderness to the dough giving it a soft and pliable texture. It also helps to create a golden and crispy crust when baked.
  • 5/8 cup sugar use approximately 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons The sugar not only provides sweetness but also acts as food for the yeast, aiding in the fermentation process. It helps to create a beautiful golden crust and adds a subtle caramelized flavor to the bread. Adjusting the amount allows for precise control over the sweetness level.
  • 5-5.5 cups flour This versatile and essential ingredient forms the base of the dough providing structure and a satisfying chewiness to the final product. The exact amount may vary depending on the desired consistency of the dough.

Instructions

  • First, you need to combine 5 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Warm the water to lukewarm (about 105 degrees F), add oil, and mix it with eggs. Next, you have to pour the water mixture into the flour mixture and stir until well combined.
  • Gradually add the remaining flour while kneading with your hands until the dough is smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or towel and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  • Punch down the dough. Divide it into 2 portions and shape them into loaves. Then, place the loaves on a greased baking sheet and let them rise until they double in size.
  • Now, bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve it warm or preserve it to eat in the future.

Notes

• Knead the dough thoroughly to ensure that it is soft and elastic.
• Let the bread rise properly for the best results.
• Cover the dough with a damp cloth to prevent it from drying out.
