  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey adding a natural and subtle sweetness to your cookie dough, enhancing the overall flavor profile and adding a delicate floral note.
  • 1/4 cup butter softened, salted, or unsalted, serving as the primary fat in your cookie dough, contributing a rich and buttery taste that creates a tender and moist texture.
  • 1 egg at room temperature acting as a binding agent and adding structure to your cookies, ensuring they hold their shape and have a soft and chewy texture.
  • 3/8 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks providing pockets of melted chocolate throughout your cookies, delivering bursts of bittersweet and indulgent flavor that complements the sweetness of the dough.
  • 1/4 cup shortening butter-flavored, providing a rich and buttery taste to your cookies, adding moisture and richness to the dough.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar adding a touch of sweetness to your cookie dough, balancing the flavors and creating a subtle crunch on the exterior of the cookies.
  • 1 1/2 cups AP flour serving as the base of your cookie dough, providing structure and stability while creating a soft and tender texture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract infusing your cookies with a warm and fragrant note of vanilla, enhancing the overall aroma and adding a hint of sweetness to the flavor.
  • 5/8 cup dark brown sugar packed, creating a deep and rich sweetness in your cookies, imparting a caramel-like flavor that adds complexity and depth to each bite.
  • 3/8 cup milk chocolate chunks offering a creamy and sweeter alternative to the semi-sweet chocolate chunks, creating a delightful contrast and adding a smoother and milder chocolate flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder acting as a leavening agent that helps your cookies rise and achieve a soft and fluffy texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt enhancing the flavors of your cookies by adding a subtle savory note, balancing the sweetness and creating a more well-rounded taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda contributing to the overall rise and texture of your cookies, ensuring they are light and tender.
  • 3/8 cup Old fashioned oats providing a hearty and textured element to your cookie dough, adding a chewy and wholesome quality that enhances the overall texture and taste.

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper and set aside. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, butter, dark brown sugar, and semi-sweet chocolate chunks until well combined.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time until completely incorporated. Add in the honey and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, then add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Finally, fold in the milk chocolate chunks and shorten until evenly distributed.
  • Using a 2 Tbsp cookie scoop, drop the dough onto the prepared cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.

• For chewier cookies, add an additional tablespoon of butter.
• If you don’t have semi-sweet chocolate chunks, feel free to use semi-sweet chocolate chips.
• Be careful not to overbake the cookies or your cookies will be dry.
