Equipment

  • Oven-proof bowl

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of sour cream lending a tangy and velvety smoothness to the sauce, creating a creamy and luscious texture.
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese offering a mild and stretchy quality that adds a gooey and melty component to the dish.
  • 7/8 cup of macaroni approximately 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons, cooked to al dente perfection, creating a firm and satisfying pasta base for the dish.
  • Salt and pepper to taste seasoning the mac and cheese and enhancing the flavors of the cheese and other ingredients.
  • 1 cup of sharp Cheddar cheese providing a bold and tangy flavor that melts into a rich and velvety cheese sauce.
  • 1/2 cup of Duke's mayo adding a creamy and tangy element that enhances the texture and flavor of the mac and cheese.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add the macaroni and cook for about 8 minutes or until just al dente. Drain off the water and set it aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix together mayo, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, sour cream, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Add the cooked macaroni to the mixture and mix until everything is evenly combined.
  • Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • Transfer the macaroni mixture to the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the top with a bit of extra cheddar cheese and some cracked black pepper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

• If you want a creamier mac and cheese, use more sour cream.
• To add extra flavor, try using smoked cheddar or gruyere in place of the cheddar.
• Feel free to add other toppings, such as bacon bits or diced jalapenos.
• If the mac and cheese get too dry, add a bit of milk or cream before baking.
