Long John Silver’s Coleslaw Recipe

  • 1 Medium Bowl
  • 1 Lid
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Manual Chopper


  • 1 pc head finely chopped fresh cabbage  
  • 1/3 cup finely shredded carrot
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup butter milk
  • 2 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp minced white onion 
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar


  • Take a vegetable chopper and chop the cabbage and carrot into fine pieces. I used Fullstar Vegetable Chopper. It makes my kitchen work way easier. If you don’t have a chopper, you can cut these vegetables with a sharp knife.
  • Take a medium-size mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 cup milk, 1/3 cup butter milk, 2 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
    Now, take a whisk and beat all the ingredients together until smooth.
  • At this stage, you have to add the chopped cabbage, carrots, and minced white onion to the bowl. Combine well to coat with John’s slaw dressing thoroughly. Then, cover the bowl with a lid and store it in the fridge for a couple of hours to let the flavors meld.
  • Now remove the creamy coleslaw from the refrigerator and serve it to your guests. They will love the delicious taste and texture of the coleslaw. Plus, it is a great way to add some nutrients.



If you don’t want to shred cabbage and carrots for this Long John Silvers Coleslaw recipe, you can purchase a bag of organic coleslaw mix. It is also super cheap and affordable. In addition, I am using regular mayonnaise here in this recipe. But you can use a light one if you want.
