Equipment

  • 1 medium cup
  • 1 medium skillet
  • 1 oven etc.

Ingredients

Savory Seasoning:

  • 1 packet of taco seasoning

Protein and Beans:

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1/4 cup of refried beans

Pizza Base:

  • 1 store-bought or homemade pizza dough

Cheese Duo:

  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 2 cups of mozzarella cheese

Sauces:

  • 2/3 cup of pizza sauce
  • 2/3 cup of taco sauce

Optional Toppings:

  • Sour cream or ranch dressing
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Black olives

Instructions

  • Start off by warming a medium-sized skillet and adding the ground beef. Drain the excess fat before stirring in the taco seasoning packet with a splash of water, combining until fully incorporated.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface, then spread over it a combination of taco sauce, tomato sauce and refried beans. Sprinkle generously with mozzarella cheese.
  • Top the sauce and cheese with the seasoned beef, then finish off by adding a layer of shredded cheddar cheese over everything.
  • Pop it in the oven at 450 degrees F for 12-15 minutes or until the golden crust is beautifully browned. Allow to cool slightly before serving with a side of sour cream or ranch dressing and optional diced tomatoes, lettuce and black olives. Dig in!
  • For a flavorful alternative, try adding jalapeno slices or cooked chorizo crumbles to the beef mixture for added spice.

Notes

Make the pizza dough thinner if you want a crispy crust, or wait for the crust to turn golden and crisp. If you like a chewy crust, make thicker pizza dough instead of using thin dough, and don’t overcook it.
