For Crumble:

  • ¼ teaspoon of warm and aromatic ground cinnamon to infuse the crumble with a cozy and comforting spice note
  • ¾ teaspoon of rich and creamy unsalted butter to bind the ingredients together and create a buttery and crisp texture.
  • 1 ¼ tablespoons of granulated sugar to add a sweet and crunchy element to the topping
  • 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour for a light and delicate texture in the crumble

For Donuts:

  • 1/2 small peach peeled and diced, for a burst of juicy and fruity flavor in each bite
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt to enhance the overall flavors and bring out the sweetness
  • 1/2 large egg lightly beaten, to provide structure and moisture to the donut batter
  • 1 ¼ tablespoons of melted unsalted butter to add richness and a buttery flavor to the donut batter.
  • ½ cup of versatile all-purpose flour for a light and tender donut base
  • 1/4 cup of full-fat sour cream for a rich and tangy element that keeps the donuts moist and tender
  • ¼ cup of packed brown sugar adding a deep and caramelized sweetness to the donuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder to ensure a fluffy and airy texture in the donuts

For Glaze:

  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla for a fragrant and aromatic essence that adds depth to the glaze.
  • 1/4 cup of powdered sugar to create a sweet and smooth glaze that coats the donuts
  • 1/2 tablespoon of milk or more as needed, to achieve the desired consistency of the glaze

  • Preheat the oven to 350F (175C). To make the crumble, combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Cut in butter until it reaches a crumbly texture. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl whisk together the flour and brown sugar. Add baking powder, salt and whisk together.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, sour cream, and melted butter until well combined. Add to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray. Fill each section about 2/3 full with dough. Place the diced peaches in the center of each donut. Sprinkle with crumble topping.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more milk (1 teaspoon at a time) until desired consistency is reached.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the donuts before serving.

  • Make sure to use ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • You can substitute the sour cream in the batter with plain yogurt or buttermilk.
  • For a vegan version, you can substitute melted coconut oil instead of butter in the batter and glaze.
  • If you don’t have a donut pan, you can make these as muffins instead. Bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
