Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Cook pasta according to the instructions on the package, then drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the butter, olive oil and garlic. Saute for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add in the Italian sausage and cook until lightly browned approximately 5 minutes.
  • Add the white wine and diced tomatoes to the sausage mixture and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • In A Large Bowl, Combine Cooked Pasta With Marinara Sauce And Sausage Mixture. Stir Together Thoroughly.
  • Add half of the Parmesan cheese to the pasta mixture and stir to combine.
  • Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • Layer half of the pasta mixture in the bottom of the dish, then layer with mozzarella cheese. Pour the remaining pasta mixture on top and spread evenly. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Place in a preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes

• For extra flavor, add ½ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes to the sausage mixture while cooking.
• If desired, substitute the Italian sausage with ground beef or turkey.
• Feel free to use any type of pasta that you prefer.
• For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pasta and check labels to ensure all ingredients are certified gluten-free.
• If desired, add additional vegetables such as bell peppers, zucchini, or mushrooms to the sausage mixture.
