Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 scooper
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 wooden spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 Ripe Banana Smashed - Soft and naturally sweet the ripe bananas impart a delightful natural sweetness and moistness, serving as the base and binding agent for these delectable treats.
  • 1 ¼ cups Quick Oats - Wholesome and hearty the quick oats contribute a chewy texture while offering a rich, nutty flavor, ensuring a satisfying bite in every mouthful.
  • ¼ cup Semi-Chocolate Chips - Decadent and indulgent the semi-sweet chocolate chips melt slightly during baking, creating pockets of rich, gooey chocolate that perfectly complement the fruity sweetness of the bananas.
  • ½ cup Shredded Unsweetened Coconut - Toasted to perfection the shredded coconut adds a nutty aroma and a satisfying crunch, enhancing the texture and providing a tropical hint to the mixture.
  • 4 tbsp Pure Honey - Liquid gold the pure honey adds a warm and floral sweetness, binding the ingredients together while infusing a subtle floral note, enhancing the overall sweetness without overwhelming the senses.
  • ½ cup Raisins - Plump and sweet the raisins provide bursts of natural sweetness, balancing the flavors and adding a delightful chewiness to the mix.
  • Cooking Spray - Lightly coating the baking pan the cooking spray ensures easy release and a golden, crispy texture on the outside, making the bars wonderfully crunchy yet moist inside.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • In a medium bowl, mash the bananas until they are smooth and creamy.
  • Next, add the oats, coconut, raisins, honey, and chocolate chips and mix everything until everything is evenly combined.
  • Now, take a spoon or scoop, and create 1-inch cookie dough balls. For even baking, position the cookies on the baking sheet with at least two inches between each one.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Let cool the Mozies for a few minutes before you serve them.

Notes

The following tips and tricks will help make the process of making Mozies much easier:
• Make sure you use ripe bananas, as they will give the most flavor.
• If you don’t have quick oats, you can substitute rolled oats instead.
• You can add other ingredients like nuts or dried fruit to your Mozies to add more flavor.
• If the Mozies don’t seem to be sticking together, add a tablespoon of honey or two tablespoons of melted coconut oil to the mixture.
• To make your own variation, you can switch out the semi-chocolate chips for peanut butter chips or butterscotch chips. You can also add different types of nuts, dried fruits, and seeds.
• To keep your Mozies moist and fresh for longer, store them in an airtight container like a Mason jar. They can last up to a week if stored properly.
