Equipment

  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula
  • Measuring Cup
  • Bread pan
  • 2 mixing bowl
  • Handheld mixer

Ingredients

For topping:

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar providing a touch of sweetness and a slight caramelization to the topping.
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar adding a rich and molasses-like flavor to the bread's crust.
  • 1 tablespoon of melted butter creating a luscious and buttery coating on top of the bread.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of aromatic cinnamon adding a warm and comforting spice to the bread.

For bread batter:

  • 1 cup of flour forming the base of the bread and providing structure.
  • 1/2 cup of milk adding moisture and creating a soft and tender texture in the bread.
  • 1/4 cup of softened butter lending richness and a buttery flavor to the bread.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla infusing a delightful and aromatic essence to the bread.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon adding a subtle warmth and depth of flavor to the bread.
  • 1/2 of a beaten egg providing structure and richness to the bread.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda acting as a leavening agent and helping the bread rise.
  • 1/2 cup of sugar contributing sweetness and helping to create a tender and moist bread.

Instructions

  • Start by mixing together all the ingredients for the topping in a bowl and set aside. Then, mix sugar, egg, vanilla, and softened butter in another bowl using a hand mixer until it looks like cream.
  • Add the baking soda and milk then give it another good mix with your hand mixer.
  • Next, add the flour, vanilla, and cinnamon and mix everything together with a spatula until combined.
  • Grease your bread pan and pour the batter in. Bake it at 350°F for 55 minutes.
  • Once you take it out of the oven, let it cool for 20 minutes before spreading the topping on top. Now all that’s left is to cut it into slices and serve it up on a plate!

Notes

  • When mixing the wet ingredients, it’s important not to overmix. Overmixing can cause the bread to be dense and heavy.
  • If you find that the top of your loaf is browning too quickly during baking, cover it with a sheet of foil for the remainder of the cooking time.
  • If you’d like a more intense flavor, increase the cinnamon and sugar amounts to your liking.
