Greg Doucette protein ice cream is an easy to make, delicious and healthy homemade frozen treat. It’s made with coconut milk, strawberries, protein powder and xanthan gum. This recipe was created by fitness guru Greg Doucette as a way to easily get your daily dose of protein without having to resort to boring shakes or bars.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 150 ml Low-fat milk / Unsweetened almond milk
  • 10 ice cubes 
  • 200 grams Frozen Strawberries, thawed
  • 1 tsp Xanthan Gum
  • 100 grams Formula 1 dutch chocolate flavor protein powder

Instructions

  • Start by gathering all the ingredients and equipment you need. Place the coconut milk, frozen strawberries, protein powder, xanthan gum and ice cubes in a small bowl.
  • Put all of the ingredients into your kitchen aid blender and blend until it reaches a creamy consistency. This should take about 2-3 minutes on high .
  • Once it has reached a creamy consistency, pour the mixture into a bowl and place in the freezer to solidify for two hours. 
  • After two hours, take the ice cream out of the freezer and ready to serve.

Notes

  •  If you want to add some sweetness to your protein ice cream, try adding some natural sweeteners like honey or agave nectar. 
  •  To make sure your ice cream is as creamy as possible, use full fat coconut milk or almond milk instead of low fat versions.
  •  For extra flavor, try adding other fruits such as raspberries or mangoes to the mix!
