Instructions

  • Begin by melting butter in a medium-large pot over low heat. Once melted, add onion and cook until it is soft and translucent (about 3 minutes).
  • Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more. Increase heat to medium-high and stir in heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, old bay seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, dried parsley and pepper to taste. Whisk constantly until ingredients are well incorporated and the sauce starts to thicken.
  • Finally, add a splash of lemon juice for acidity balance and remove from heat once desired thickness has been achieved.
  • Transfer the sauce to a serving dish or storage container and serve over your favorite dishes.

Notes

  • To ensure a smooth sauce, use low heat throughout the cooking process.
  • Longer the cooking time, the consistency of the sauce will.
  • Avoid using pre-made “crack” sauces as they contain many preservatives that can change the flavor profile of your Lotus Crack Sauce.
  • Feel free to adjust seasoning according to taste preferences.
  • If you prefer your sauce on the spicier side, feel free to add more Cajun seasoning or cayenne pepper flakes for extra kick!
