Equipment

Ingredients

  • 8 cups roasted tomato sauce
  • 8 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp dry basil

Instructions

  • Start by gently heating a saucepan and adding the fist-full of tomato sauce that you've roasted to perfection.
  • Stir in sugar, salt, basil and oregano until fully incorporated.
  • Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 - 15 minutes over low heat, stirring periodically until the sauce thickens to your desired texture.
  • Taste and season as necessary.
  • Remove from heat, and allow it to cool before transferring it into an airtight container for safe keeping in the refrigerator.
  • Serve over any dish you like pizza or a classic casserole!

Notes

– If the sauce is too thick, add a little water or more tomato sauce to thin it out.
– Feel free to adjust the flavorings according to your tastes by adding additional herbs and spices like garlic powder or red pepper flakes!
– The pizza sauce will keep in the refrigerator for up to one week.
