Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Shelled Pecans
  • 2 Cups Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2/3 Cup Melted Butter
  • 2 Cups White Corn Syrup or White Sugar
  • 6 Eggs beaten
  • 2 Dashes of Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Pinches of Salt
  • Two 9-inch Unbaked Pie Shells.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine brown sugar and melted butter.
  • Add eggs, vanilla extract, and salt, and mix until smooth.
  • Gently stir in the pecans until coated.
  • Pour the filling into an unbaked pie shell and smooth the top.
  • Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 40-50 minutes until set and slightly puffed.
  • Let the pie cool to set the filling.
  • Serve slices of Ann Landers’ pecan pie with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for added delight.
