  • knife

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of deli-sliced corned beef tender and savory, expertly cured and seasoned to perfection, ensuring a mouthwatering experience with each layer.
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese each slice a masterpiece of smooth and nutty goodness, promising a luxurious melt that adds a velvety and creamy texture to every bite.
  • 1 tablespoon of butter softened to a perfect spreadable consistency, destined to grace the outer layers of the rye bread, imparting a golden crispness and a hint of rich, buttery goodness to complete this culinary masterpiece.
  • 4 slices of hearty rye bread boasting a robust and earthy flavor profile that perfectly complements the other ingredients in this delightful sandwich creation.
  • 1/2 cup of sauerkraut carefully drained to preserve its distinctively tangy and crunchy character, providing a delightful contrast to the other elements and contributing a burst of flavor complexity.
  • 1/4 cup of Thousand Island dressing a harmonious blend of tangy mayonnaise, zesty ketchup, and finely chopped pickles, creating a flavor explosion that elevates the overall taste experience.

Instructions

  • Start by gathering all the ingredients that you will need to make the sandwich. And heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Now, spread Thousand Island dressing on the 4 slices of rye bread and layer sauerkraut, corned beef, and Swiss cheese over them. Now top each of them with the remaining slices of toast.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat until it melts and is bubbling.
  • Place sandwiches on the pan and cook for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Once done, remove from pan and cut into halves. Serve with pickles and chips on the side.

Notes

  • If you don’t have Thousand Island dressing, you can also use Russian dressing or any other creamy dressing of your choice.
  • Make sure to toast the bread on a skillet over medium heat until it is golden brown before adding the ingredients to the sandwich. This will ensure that all of the flavors are fully developed and that the sandwich doesn’t get soggy.
  • Make sure to use high-quality ingredients for the best results.
  • If you are short on time, you can use pre-cooked corned beef or a slow cooker version of the recipe.
