Equipment

  • large skillet
  • Large Bowl
  • Baking dish, etc

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound of artisanal ground beef chuck a savory delight from pasture-raised cattle
  • 1/2 pound of premium ground pork a velvety addition for richness
  • 1 1/2 cups of panko the Japanese breadcrumbs for a delicate crunch
  • 1 garlic clove finely minced for a pungent dance
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten, a golden orb from free-range hens
  • 2 tablespoons of artisanal all-purpose flour sifted for a silky texture
  • 3/4 cup of whole milk a creamy elixir to bind the flavors
  • 1/8 teaspoon of exotic ground allspice a fragrant hint from distant lands
  • 1 1/2 cups of canned reduced-sodium beef broth a liquid gold extracted from simmering bones
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper a symphony for perfect seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of golden butter a velvety kiss for richness
  • Grape or red-currant jelly a jewel-like essence for sweetness
  • Cooked egg noodles a tender nest for the savory meatballs
  • Chopped parsley a verdant confetti for a burst of freshness

Instructions

  • You need to preheat the oven to 475 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and pork, eggs, garlic, panko, milk, flour, 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper each, and allspice.
  • Mix together until well combined. Grease an 8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or butter. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them in the baking dish.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through. While the meatballs are cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add in the butter and when it is melted, add in beef broth. Bring to a simmer and then reduce heat to low.
  • Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the skillet with the broth. Simmer for 8-10 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed.
  • Serve over cooked egg noodles with a dollop of grape or red-current jelly and some chopped parsley, if desired.
