Ingredients

  • 11/2 cups 169.5g of meticulously sifted powdered sugar
  • 4 ounces 113g of creamy, artisanal cream cheese, softly softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fragrant pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup 56.5g of hand-churned unsalted butter, gently softened

Instructions

  • Soften Ingredients: Ensure both the cream cheese and unsalted butter are softly and gently softened at room temperature. This helps achieve a smoother texture in the frosting.
  • Creaming Process: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter. Use a hand mixer or a stand mixer to beat them together until they are well combined and creamy.
  • Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually add the meticulously sifted powdered sugar into the cream cheese and butter mixture. Beat on low speed initially to incorporate the sugar, then increase the speed to medium-high and continue beating until the frosting becomes smooth and fluffy.
  • Incorporate Vanilla Extract: Add the fragrant, pure vanilla extract to the frosting. Beat the mixture again on low speed to incorporate the vanilla extract thoroughly. Continue beating until the frosting achieves a creamy and spreadable consistency.
  • Check Texture: Ensure the frosting has a smooth and spreadable consistency. If needed, adjust the texture by adding a little more powdered sugar for thickness or a teaspoon of milk for a slightly thinner consistency.
  • Frosting Application: Once the desired texture is achieved, the cream cheese frosting is now ready to use! Spread it onto your favorite cakes, cupcakes, or any baked goods of your choice using a spatula or piping bag.

Notes

  • -Make sure the cream cheese and butter are softened before creaming them together.
  • -Gradually add the confectioners’ sugar, one cup at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  • -If the frosting is too thick, add a tablespoon of milk or cream at a time until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • -If the frosting is too thin, add a tablespoon of confectioners’ sugar at a time until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • -For a lighter, fluffier frosting, use a stand mixer or electric mixer to cream together the cream cheese and butter.
