This begins by prepping the vegetables. Cut the onions, red bell peppers, and green bell peppers into small pieces.
In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is browned. Once cooked, drain off any excess fat and set aside.
Now add in all of your spices – chili powder, cumin, garlic, cayenne pepper, and black pepper – and stir everything together.
Now add in the cooked beef along with the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, and chopped vegetables. Stir to combine.
Reduce the heat to low and let the chili simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste it and adjust the seasoning as needed with salt.
Serve the chili in bowls, topped with your favorite toppings such as cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.
