  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 large onion diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • Grease a baking dish with butter.
  • Mix the potatoes, milk, broth, onion, salt, pepper, and garlic in a bowl.

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and then stir in the flour until you get a paste.
  • Pour the butter-flour mixture over the potatoes in the baking dish.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Serve warm.

Notes

  • If you want to get a crispier topping on your scalloped potatoes, broil the dish for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.
  • You can use any type of potatoes you like – russet, yellow, red, etc.
  • Feel free to add in any other seasonings you’d like such as rosemary or thyme.
  • To make a cheesy version, sprinkle shredded cheese over the potatoes before baking.
