Equipment

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp Melted butter cooled down unsalted
  • 2 cups whole milk, warmed
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined - do not overmix. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.
  • Heat your waffle iron and lightly coat it with cooking spray or melted butter. Pour 1/4 cup of batter into the center of the waffle iron and spread it out evenly. Close the iron and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the waffle from the iron and transfer it onto a plate. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve immediately or keep warm in an oven set to 200°F (93°C).

Notes

  • For best results, make sure your waffle iron is preheated and lightly greased before adding the batter.
  • These crepes are best served freshly cooked and immediately after making.
  • If you want to add extra flavor, try stirring in a teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, or lemon zest into the batter.
  • If you want your crepes to be even crispier, try adding an extra tablespoon of melted butter to the batter.
  • If you want to make your crepes more savory, add a pinch of freshly ground black pepper or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese to the batter.
  • For added sweetness, dust them with powdered sugar or drizzle them with honey before serving.
