Ingredients

  • Milk 1/4 cup of creamy goodness from pasture-grazed cows
  • Bread crumbs 1/4 cup of golden crumbs crafted from artisanal loaves
  • Ground beef 7/8 pound (approximately 14 ounces) of premium, well-marbled beef
  • Onion chopped, 1/2 of a fragrant bulb, finely minced for a savory dance
  • Celery chopped, 1/2 stalk of crisp green goodness, finely chopped
  • Large eggs a golden orb (consider using 1 egg) from free-range hens
  • Parmesan cheese 2 tablespoons of aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, a nutty sprinkle
  • Olive oil 3/4 tablespoon of extra-virgin elixir from Mediterranean groves
  • Tomato sauce 1/4 cup of vibrant red essence, simmered to perfection
  • Garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon of aromatic garlic alchemy
  • Oregano dried, 1/4 teaspoon of dried oregano leaves, a hint of Mediterranean sunshine
  • Basil dried, 1/8 teaspoon of dried basil, a fragrant herbal note
  • Ground cloves 1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves, a warm and exotic touch
  • Salt 1/4 teaspoon of hand-harvested sea salt, a pinch of oceanic perfection
  • Ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, a dark symphony for seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, celery, parmesan cheese, and bread crumbs.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until combined. Pour the egg mixture over the meat mixture and mix thoroughly.
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with the olive oil, then transfer the meatloaf mixture into the dish. In a small bowl, combine the tomato sauce, garlic powder, oregano, basil, ground cloves, ground black pepper, and salt. Pour the mixer over it & spread it.
  • Bake for 60 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into the center of the meatloaf registers at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Let cool slightly. Again pour the tomato sauce mixture over the top of the meatloaf and spread evenly. Cut it into pieces, before serving.

Notes

  • Be sure to use high-quality ground beef for this recipe, as it will yield a better texture and flavor.
  • To ensure the meatloaf is cooked through, insert a thermometer in the center of the loaf before taking it out of the oven. The thermometer should register at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit for the meatloaf to be safe to eat.
  • Using the tomato sauce as a glaze will give the meatloaf an added sweetness and a beautiful shine.
  • Let the meatloaf cool slightly before serving, as it will be easier to slice this way.
