Equipment

  • 1 large bowls
  • 1 Baking pan
  • 1 spoon

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano fragrant and herbaceous, imparting a distinct Mediterranean flair to the dish.
  • Juice and zest of 1/4 lemon lending a bright and tangy citrusy zing, awakening the taste buds with its refreshing notes.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt delicately seasoning the dish, bringing out the inherent flavors of each ingredient, while ensuring a well-balanced taste.
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil drizzled generously, enriching the dish with its smooth and fruity essence, creating a luscious mouthfeel.
  • 1/2 tablespoon powdered chicken stock infusing the potatoes with a savory and umami depth, enhancing their natural flavors to new heights.
  • 2 medium-sized potatoes perfectly starchy and tender, providing a satisfying bite in every forkful.
  • 1 garlic clove finely minced, infusing the dish with its aromatic and slightly pungent flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper adding a subtle heat and a hint of earthiness, balancing the flavors harmoniously.

Instructions

  • Firstly, you need to preheat the oven to 375°Fahrenheit (190°Celsius). Peel and cut the potatoes into slices of about 0.25-inch thickness.
  • Place the potato slices in a large bowl and sprinkle with salt, pepper, oregano, chicken stock powder, lemon juice/zest, minced garlic, and olive oil.
  • Gently mix all the ingredients together so that everything is evenly distributed and the potatoes are evenly coated with the marinade. Grease a baking pan with some olive oil, then add the potato slices to it, making sure that they do not overlap or stick to each other.
  • Bake for 20 - 30 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown. Take out of the oven and let cool before serving.

Notes

  • If you want a bit of crunchiness in the potatoes, make sure to slice them thinly.
  • When adding salt and spices, be very careful as too much can ruin the flavor.
  • Don’t forget to preheat your oven before baking the Greek Potatoes Jamie Oliver.
  • Also, make sure to spread the potatoes in a single layer in the baking dish without overlapping them.
