Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 50 grams all-purpose flour/Bread flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
  • 75 grams of sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 125 g dessert chocolate
  • 50 g Melted Butter
  • 50 g icing sugar
  • 50 g heavy whipping cream
  • 20 g of Kirsch liquor
  • 1 tsp of butter
  • 3 tsp of cornstarch
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Combine the flour, yeast, vanilla sugar, and salt in a bowl. Whisk until blended.
  • Whisk eggs until light and fluffy then add to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
  • Divide dough into two portions and form each into a ball. Place on a greased baking tray, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Create the topping by melting chocolate in a double boiler. In a separate bowl mix together cream, butter, icing sugar, and thickener to form desired texture.
  • Spread melted chocolate over each dough ball evenly then top with cream mix.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve your Infinite Forest Cake.

Notes

  • You can add other ingredients like nuts, dried fruits or chocolate chips to the dough.
  • To decorate your cake you can use chopped almonds, fresh fruit and grated chocolate.
  • If the cream mixture is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk or cream to thin it out.
  • To get an even smoother cream, add 1 tablespoon of melted butter or margarine.
