Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, pepper, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  • Add in water and olive oil and mix until everything is fully incorporated. The dough should be soft but not overly sticky. If it is too dry, add a bit more water and mix until everything comes together.
  • Roll the dough into small (1-inch diameter) balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with your fingers. Bake for about 20 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure all of your ingredients are at room temperature before you begin this will help everything come together more easily.
  • When forming the biscuit dough into balls, make sure they are all the same size. This will ensure even baking and a consistent texture.
  • Once baked, these biscuits will keep for up to 1 week in an airtight container at room temperature.
