Equipment

  • Large baking dish
  • serrated knife
  • Small bowl
  • cooking spray

Ingredients

  • To create these irresistible King’s Hawaiian Buffalo Chicken Sliders you’ll need the following:
  • - 1 rotisserie chicken shredded (approximately 3-4 cups prepared chicken)
  • - ½ cup buffalo wing sauce
  • - ½ cup ranch dressing
  • - 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • - ¼ teaspoon salt
  • - ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • - 2 packages of King’s Hawaiian rolls 12 count each
  • - 8 ounces of shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • - 1 tablespoon chopped green onions for added flavor

For the topping:

  • - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • - ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This step is essential for getting the sliders all warm and cheesy. While it heats up, spray a large baking dish or a rimmed baking sheet with some cooking spray. Setting this up early makes everything move smoother later on.

Step 2: Prepare the Chicken Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, toss in your shredded rotisserie chicken. Pour in the buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir it all together until the chicken is evenly coated in that delicious, tangy mixture. This combination is what makes every slider burst with flavor.

Step 3: Slice the Rolls

  • Next, don’t pull the rolls apart just yet! Take a large serrated knife and carefully slice the entire batch of rolls in half horizontally, much like you would if you were slicing a bagel. Keep those tops and bottoms together—this will make assembly much easier!

Step 4: Assemble the Sliders

  • Lay the bottom halves of the rolls into the prepared baking pan, cut side facing up. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over the rolls. Now, take the buffalo chicken mixture and spread it out evenly over the cheese. Finally, top the chicken with the remaining cheese and place the tops of the rolls right on top.

Step 5: Prepare the Topping

  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and Italian seasoning. Use a brush to apply this buttery mixture over the tops of the slider rolls. This will not only add flavor but create a lovely golden-brown crust when baked.

Step 6: Bake the Sliders

  • Slide your baking dish into the preheated oven and let them bake for about 10 to 15 minutes. You’ll know they’re done when the cheese is melted and golden, and the tops of the rolls are slightly browned. The aroma wafting through your kitchen will be too tempting!

Step 7: Serve

  • Optionally, you can serve these sliders with coleslaw either piled on top or as a side, adding a fresh crunch that complements the spicy chicken.

Notes

- Use Rotisserie Chicken: It saves time and packs a ton of flavors compared to cooking chicken from scratch.
- Customize the Spice Level: Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce based on your spice tolerance. Less for milder, more for a kick!
- Make Ahead: Prepare the sliders earlier in the day. Just cover them and pop them in the fridge until you’re ready to bake.
- Add Veggies: Feel free to sneak in some chopped celery or carrots into the chicken mixture for extra crunch and nutrition.
- Experiment with Cheeses: Monterey Jack is great, but feel free to use cheddar, pepper jack, or even a blend!
