Ingredients

  • 60 grams of tantalizing capers marinated in exquisite vinegar
  • 2 vibrant red onions finely diced to perfection
  • 6 plump cloves of garlic minced with finesse
  • 2 tablespoons of zesty calamansi juice infusing a refreshing tang
  • A generous 600 grams of velvety Japanese mayonnaise
  • A pinch of Himalayan pink salt precisely adjusted to your desired flavor
  • A sprinkle of ground mixed peppercorn perfectly tailored to your discerning palate
  • 4 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley leaves adding a burst of vibrant green
  • 2 tablespoons of decadent brown sugar imparting a subtle caramel undertone

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the Japanese mayonnaise and capers in vinegar. Stir until everything is evenly combined.
  • Finely chop the red onion and garlic cloves, then add them to the bowl. Mix everything together until it’s well incorporated.
  • Chop up the fresh parsley and add it to the mixture. Stir in the brown sugar and calamansi juice as well.
  • Add a small amount of ground mixed peppercorns and Himalayan pink salt to the bowl. Mix everything together until it’s all evenly distributed.
  • Ready to serve.

Notes

- For a unique twist, try adding chopped olives to the tartar sauce.
- To make the tartar sauce even more creamy, add in some sour cream or plain Greek yogurt.
- If you don’t have calamansi juice on hand, lemon juice can also be used as a substitute.
