Equipment

  • A large pot & a bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • A Colander

Ingredients

  • 2 lb pasta Uncooked
  • 2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 Cups Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 Jar of Tomato Sauce
  • 6 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 Loafs of Bread Crusty
  • 8 Minced Garlic Cloves
  • 2 cans of diced tomatoes
  • 2 finely diced onion
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Instructions

  • In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef then cook until it is fully browned, stirring occasionally. Once cooked through, drain the fat then set aside.
  • Return the pot to medium heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add in the onion and garlic then sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper then stir to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add in the cooked ground beef then stir to combine. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the pot with the sauce & cheese then stir to combine. Heat through for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve the Outback Walhalla pasta with grated Parmesan cheese and crusty bread, if desired.

Notes

  • You can add in some veggies, such as mushrooms or bell peppers, to make this dish even more flavorful.
  • If you want a creamier sauce, add 1/4 cup of heavy cream at the end.
  • Make sure to adjust the number of seasonings to your taste preference.
  • If you want to make this dish vegan, substitute the ground beef for crumbled tofu and use vegetable broth instead of beef broth.
  • This dish is best served fresh, as it will not keep as well when made ahead of time.
  • Feel free to double the recipe for a large crowd or to have leftovers.
  • If you want a spicier version of this dish, add more red pepper flakes or some cayenne pepper.
