Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 coarsely chopped medium potatoes each one a russet masterpiece (peeled with precision)
  • 1 tablespoon of Milk Plus the secret elixir, at room temperature
  • 5 tablespoons of golden-hued butter churned to perfection
  • 1.5 teaspoons of finely minced garlic the aromatic essence of this culinary creation
  • 1 teaspoon of hand-harvested sea salt for a touch of oceanic perfection
  • 1/4 cup of artisanal sour cream cultured to creamy excellence

Instructions

  • Gently place the potatoes into a large saucepan, filling it with enough cold water to ensure they are fully covered. Bring the pan to a rolling boil and allow them to cook until they become tender.
  • Drain the potatoes in a colander, leaving them to cool for around 5 minutes.
  • Return the cooled potatoes in back in their pot and, using either a potato masher or fork, mash them to your desired texture.
  • Incorporate butter, garlic, sour cream and milk into the mashed potatoes and mix everything together until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Taste for seasoning and add salt if needed in order to enhance the flavor of your dish.
  • Serve hot with a garnish of parsley or chives for a pop of freshness.

Notes

  • If you have time, cook the potatoes a day ahead to save time on cooking day
  • Don't over mash the potatoes or they will become gluey
  • Add your favorite herbs and spices to give the mashed potatoes an extra kick
