Ingredients

  • 2 cups of velvety ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon of carefully selected dried oregano leaves
  • 6 ounces of premium San Giorgio Jumbo Shells waiting to be filled
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 tablespoons of aged Parmesan cheese finely grated
  • 1 cup of hand-shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt to taste adding a pinch of perfection
  • 1 1/2 cups of rich spaghetti sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of freshly chopped fragrant parsley
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste a touch of culinary harmony

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cook shells according to package directions and drain; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley, oregano leaves, salt and pepper until blended.
  • Spoon cheese mixture into cooked shells.
  • Spread 1 cup of spaghetti sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place stuffed shells in a baking dish and top with remaining spaghetti sauce. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, or until heated through.
  • Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve it!

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the ground beef or sausage from the stuffing mix and add more vegetables like mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, zucchini, etc.
  • If you like your stuffed shells saucier, add an extra cup of spaghetti sauce to the baking dish.
  • You can add ground beef or sausage to the cheese mixture for an added layer of flavor. You can also add vegetables like spinach, mushrooms and, onions for a heartier version.
