Equipment

  • bowl
  • Skillet

Ingredients

  • 2 buns freshly baked
  • 1 cup of hand-shredded cheddar cheese a melty masterpiece
  • 1 tablespoon of diced chipotle peppers in adobo sauce adding a smoky kick
  • 1/2 pound of ground chicken
  • 4 tablespoons of finely milled all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of premium plain chili powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to elevate the flavors
  • 1/2 teaspoon of aromatic garlic powder
  • 3 teaspoons of gourmet mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of velvety sour cream

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together the ground chicken, flour, chili powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Make sure everything is combined evenly.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chicken mixture until it is cooked through and browned. Make sure to break up the meat as it cooks for an even texture. Once cooked, set aside in a bowl and let cool.
  • In another bowl, mix together the shredded cheese, sour cream & mayonnaise. Add-in the diced chipotle peppers and stir until combined.
  • To assemble each Chicken Chipotle Melt, spread the cheese mixture onto one side of a bun. Top with the cooked chicken mixture. Place the other half of the bun on top and press down to seal in all the ingredients.
  • Heat up a skillet over medium-high heat and place each Chicken Chipotle Melt onto the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
  • Serve your Chicken Chipotle Melts with a side of chips and your favorite toppings!

Notes

  • If you don't like your melt too spicy, cut back on the amount of chipotle peppers.
  • This can also be made with ground turkey or beef.
  • For a healthier option, try using whole wheat buns instead.
  • To make it even more cheesy, add extra shredded cheese to the mixture!
