Coarsely grate cheddar cheese and set aside.
Heat oil in a large frying pan to 350 F-375 F (177C – 190C).
Fry bacon until crispy, then crumble and put aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
Gently place the frozen steak-style fries into the hot oil. Fry for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Place fried fries onto a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
In a bowl, mix together the cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic salt, onion powder and salt.
Toss cooked fries in the cheese mixture ensuring they are evenly coated.
Arrange fries on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let cool before serving with your favorite condiment.
