Instructions

Prepare the Hot Chocolate Base:

  • In a saucepan, heat 4 cups of milk over medium heat until it’s warm but not boiling.
  • Gradually whisk in 1/2 cup of hot chocolate mix, ensuring it’s well combined.
  • Continue to heat the mixture until it’s hot, but again, avoid boiling. Once hot, remove it from the heat.

Chill the Hot Chocolate:

  • Allow the hot chocolate mixture to cool to room temperature, and then refrigerate it until it’s cold. This can take a few hours or you can expedite the process by placing it in the freezer for a shorter duration.

Prepare the Whipped Cream:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of cold heavy whipping cream and 4 tablespoons of sugar.
  • Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, whip the cream and sugar mixture until stiff peaks form. This means the whipped cream should hold its shape.

Assemble the Whipped Chocolate Milk:

  • Take the cold hot chocolate base out of the refrigerator.
  • Pour the chilled hot chocolate into glasses over ice.

Top with Whipped Cream:

  • Spoon generous dollops of the freshly whipped cream on top of each glass of chocolate milk.

Optional Garnish:

  • You can optionally garnish the whipped chocolate milk with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or chocolate shavings for an extra touch of decadence.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Stir the whipped cream into the chocolate milk just before drinking.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Whipped Chocolate Milk!

Notes

  • You can use dark chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, or even white chocolate for this recipe.
  • For a lighter and fluffier texture, use half and half instead of heavy cream.
  • To make a vegan version of this recipe, use almond or coconut milk instead of regular milk.
  • For a richer flavor, use more chocolate syrup.
  • If you want to add a little extra sweetness, add a teaspoon of honey or agave nectar.
  • You can also top the whipped chocolate milk with fresh fruit, chocolate chips, or mini marshmallows for a fun twist.
