Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1/8 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1/8 tsp Onion powder to taste
  • 3 tsp of Soya sauce
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder or fresh chopped/mashed garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Chillflakes
  • 1/2 pound of boneless beef steak

Vegetables

  • 1 piece of Shiitake mushroom
  • 1/2 plant of Bok choy
  • 2 tbsp Chopped red onions
  • 1 piece of asparagus
  • 1/2 Carrot chopped
  • 4 pieces Snap peas
  • Rice
  • 4 tbsp of Red Quinoa
  • 1/2 cup of Sesame brown rice

Toppings

  • Green onions Sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Gather the necessary ingredients.
  • Heat a skillet on medium-high heat and add two tablespoons of olive oil. Once hot, season the steak with salt and pepper to taste before adding it to the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through then set aside on a plate to rest.
  • Add the vegetables to the same skillet. Saute for 5 minutes until they begin to soften and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili flakes.
  • Simmer a mixture of red quinoa and sesame brown rice in two cups of water for 15 minutes on low heat or until fully cooked.
  • Assemble the steak bowl by adding 1/2 cup of cooked grains to each bowl. Top with vegetables and sliced steak seasoned with soya sauce then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • If you’re short on time, use pre-cooked grains to save some time.
  • Feel free to use any vegetables that you like in this dish. Try adding bell peppers, zucchini, cauliflower, or broccoli.
  • This can be served hot or cold. Try serving the steak bowl over a bed of greens for a refreshing and light meal.
