Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 Potato masher
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg potatoes (6 large potatoes)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • ¼ tbsp white pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  • Cut the potatoes into pieces, making sure that they are all roughly the same size. Wash them before adding them to boiling water in a saucepan. Add some garlic cloves and salt to taste.
  • Bring the potatoes to a boil, which will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Remove them from the heat only once you can pierce them easily with a fork.
  • Once you finish boiling potatoes, remove them from the water. Keep tossing them to remove the extra water.
  • Take a potato masher and mash all the boiled potatoes and garlic in the same saucepan. Make sure the saucepan comes to normal temperature. Otherwise, you might burn yourself.
  • Add mashed potatoes to a whisk. Now, add butter, heavy cream, milk, and olive oil. You can add more salt if necessary.
  • Whip the ingredients together until they form a smooth, creamy texture. This will take approximately five minutes.
  • Transfer mashed potatoes to a bowl. Sprinkle white pepper.
  • Serve this dish hot and enjoy!

Notes

– It is important to use starchy potatoes for this dish, such as russet potatoes, in order to get the desired creamy texture.
– Make sure to add enough salt to the boiling water to flavor the potatoes.
– Whip the mashed potatoes vigorously with a whisk to make them fluffy and light.
–  You can use garlic powder instead of garlic cloves.
