Popeyes Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg potatoes (6 large potatoes)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • ¼ tbsp white pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of milk

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Saucepan
  • Potato masher
  • Whisk

Instructions

Step 1: Cut the potatoes into pieces, making sure that they are all roughly the same size. Wash them before adding them to boiling water in a saucepan. Add some garlic cloves and salt to taste.

Step 2: Bring the potatoes to a boil, which will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Remove them from the heat only once you can pierce them easily with a fork.

Step 3: Once you finish boiling potatoes, remove them from the water. Keep tossing them to remove the extra water. 

Step 4: Take a potato masher and mash all the boiled potatoes and garlic in the same saucepan. Make sure the saucepan comes to normal temperature. Otherwise, you might burn yourself.

Step 5: Add mashed potatoes to a whisk. Now, add butter, heavy cream, milk, and olive oil. You can add more salt if necessary.

Step 6: Whip the ingredients together until they form a smooth, creamy texture. This will take approximately five minutes.

Step 7: Transfer mashed potatoes to a bowl. Sprinkle white pepper.

Step 8: Serve this dish hot and enjoy!

Tips

– It is important to use starchy potatoes for this dish, such as russet potatoes, in order to get the desired creamy texture.
