Equipment

  • 1 bowl
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 baking dish

Ingredients

  • 5 5-ounce boneless chicken thighs
  • 5 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Onion (diced)
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 pinch garlic powder or fresh chopped/mashed garlic
  • 1 pinch onion powder
  • 11/2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1/2 cup Pure Honey

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine garlic, salt, pepper, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, olive oil cilantro, and honey. Mix together until is well combined.
  • Add the chicken thighs to a large resealable bag or container and pour the marinade over them. Seal the top of the bag/container and toss to ensure that all of the chicken is evenly coated in the marinade. Place in the refrigerator and marinate for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and lightly grease it with olive oil.
  • Arrange the chicken on the baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with your favorite sides such as roasted vegetables or rice.

Notes

-For a spicier version of this dish, feel free to add some chili flakes or your favorite hot sauce.
If you don’t have honey on hand, you can substitute it with maple syrup for similar results.
Make sure to let the chicken thighs marinate for at least one hour in order to ensure maximum flavor.
-Try using boneless skinless chicken breasts instead of thighs, if desired.
For a healthier version of this dish, opt for light soy sauce or coconut aminos as the marinade base.
-To make it even easier, you can use store-bought honey garlic sauce and just pour it over your chicken before baking.
