Equipment

  • large skillet
  •  Stirrer

Ingredients

  • 1/2 large red onion (chopped)
  • 20 ounces peeled and deveined large shrimp
  • 4 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 teaspoons of all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add in the diced red onion and minced garlic, stirring until softened, about 4 minutes.
  • Stir in the peeled shrimp and grated ginger; cook for 1 minute before adding the curry powder, sugar, salt, fresh milk, and flour. Stir to combine all ingredients together.
  • Allow the mixture to come to a simmer and cook for 7-8 minutes until the sauce thickens. Serve over cooked rice or noodles for an incredibly flavorful dish.

Notes

  • If you don’t have curry powder, you can use equal amounts of turmeric and cumin for a similar flavor.
  • To make the dish spicier, add in additional red pepper flakes or more curry powder.
  • For an even creamier sauce, you can add in additional tablespoons of fresh milk.
  • If the sauce is too thick for your liking, thin it out with a bit of water or vegetable broth.
  • You can also use cooked shrimp instead of arctic shrimp to save time.
