Equipment

  • a large pot

Ingredients

  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt & pepper according to taste
  • 6 carrots Chopped
  • 2 stalks of chopped celery
  • 8 cups of Water
  • 6 cubed & peeled potatoes
  • 2 finely diced onion
  • 2 daisy ham large

Instructions

  • Begin by washing, peeling, and chopping the carrots. Slice up the celery into thin slices and cube the potatoes after peeling them. Set aside for later use.
  • Remove any excess fat or skin from your daisy ham before placing it in a large pot. Cover the daisy ham with cold water and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 1 hour.
  • After the hour has gone by, add your onion, carrots, celery, potatoes, bay leaf, and any other herbs or spices you wish to use into the pot. Simmer for another hour or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Once your daisy ham boiled dinner is finished cooking, remove from heat and serve.

Notes

  • Pickling spices are often used to add flavor to daisy hams, adding a slightly salty taste.
  • Adding any herbs or spices of your choice will add an extra layer of surface when simmering the vegetables with the daisy ham.
  • Make sure to remove any excess fat or skin before cooking for better results.
  • Avoid overcooking the daisy ham boiled dinner to ensure that all the flavors come through in each bite.
