Equipment

  • Skillet
  • ribbed grill pan

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sirloin steak tips
  • 15 oz sliced baby bella mushrooms
  • 2 diced red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar
  • 5  garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 3 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

Prep the ingredients

  • Cut steak tips into pieces that are about 1 inch in size.
Chop onions and bell peppers into large pieces.
    Slice mushrooms.
    Mince garlic cloves.

Make the marinade

  • In a medium bowl, mix together olive oil, red wine vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.

Marinate the steak

  • Place the steak tips in a large zip-top bag or container with a lid. Pour the marinade over the steak and seal the bag or container. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to 4 hours.

Cook the steak

  • Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard any excess marinade. Add the steak to the hot skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook for another 7 to 8 minutes until the steak is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

Serve the sirloin tips

  • Serve the sirloin tips with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For a smokier flavor, add smoked paprika to the marinade.
  • To make this dish even easier, you can purchase pre-chopped vegetables from your local grocery store or use frozen vegetables.
  • If you don’t have red wine vinegar on hand, you can use white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar instead.
  • To add more depth of flavor to the dish, try adding a splash of balsamic vinegar in with the marinade.
  • If you don’t have Worcestershire sauce on hand, try using soy sauce or tamari instead.
  • For a spicier version, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
