Equipment

  • a bowl
  • and baking sheet

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F for a crunchy texture.
  • Place the BBQ potato chips in a bag and crush until they reach a fine powder-like consistency.
  • In a bowl, combine garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and black pepper.
  • Mix the crushed chips and spices together until fully incorporated.
  • Spread the chip dust mixture onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Let it cool before serving.

Notes

  • If you want your BBQ chip dust to be extra spicy, add an extra teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
  • If you find your chips are too salty for your liking, add a pinch of sugar to balance out the taste.
  • For best results, use fresh potato chips that haven’t been sitting around for too long.
  • Use an oven mitt when taking the chips out of the oven — they’ll be hot!
  • If you want a finer texture, pulse the crushed chips in a food processor until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Grill the chips for a smokier flavor.
