Ingredients

  • - 1 1/2 packages of King’s Hawaiian rolls do try to find the mini rolls if you can—great for portion control!
  • - 1 lb. deli ham thinly sliced (or turkey for a lighter option)
  • - 12 large eggs lightly beaten (make sure not to overcook them, as they’ll continue to cook in the oven)
  • - 12 slices of sharp cheddar cheese American works, but sharp cheddar adds a nice bite!
  • - 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • - 1/4 cup maple syrup because who doesn’t like a hint of sweetness?
  • - 1 teaspoon garlic powder a touch of garlic enhances the flavor without overpowering it
  • - 1/2 cup chopped fresh spinach for a pop of color and extra nutrition

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). While it warms up, grab your favorite 9×13 baking dish and give it a light greasing with some non-stick spray or a bit of butter to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Prepare the Rolls

  • Using a sharp serrated knife, carefully slice through the Hawaiian rolls horizontally. Ensure you keep the top half intact—this will be crucial for holding everything together later!

Step 3: Whisk the Eggs

  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the eggs until well mixed. You want them to be nice and fluffy! Then, pour this mixture into a greased skillet.

Step 4: Scramble the Eggs

  • Cook the eggs over medium-high heat, stirring gently. Scramble them until just cooked; avoid overcooking since they'll finish baking in the oven.

Step 5: Layer the Ingredients

  • Start by laying down a generous layer of deli ham over the bottom half of the rolls. Then, add the soft scrambled eggs evenly on top of the ham. Follow this with slices of cheddar cheese—don’t be shy! Finally, place the top half of the buns back on.

Step 6: Make the Topping

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the melted butter and maple syrup. Microwave for about 30 seconds until it’s bubbling. Spoon this luscious mixture over the assembled rolls, ensuring even coverage.

Step 7: Bake

  • Cover your dish with aluminum foil. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes. After that, remove the foil, and bake for an additional 10 minutes to get a lovely golden crust.

Step 8: Serve and Enjoy
