This delicious salmon dish is inspired by the chefs at Longhorn Steakhouse. It’s easy to make and full of flavor with a marinade of lime juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, garlic, ginger, and green onions. You can serve it with steamed or roasted vegetables for a complete meal that your family will love!
Grate the garlic, peel and grate the fresh ginger, slice the green onions, and measure out all other ingredients.
Marinate The Salmon
In a shallow bowl or dish, combine the lime juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, and freshly cracked black pepper. Place the salmon fillets into the marinade, turning to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Cook The Salmon
Remove the salmon from the marinade, pat dry using paper towels, and season with salt. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Once hot, add the salmon fillets and cook for about 3 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
Serve
Serve the cooked salmon with the remaining marinade, garlic, ginger, and green onions.
Notes
• Marinate the salmon for as long as possible to really enhance the flavor.• If using steaks, use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. The internal temperature should be 145F.• Use high-quality bourbon for best results.• For a healthier option, skip the marinade and just sprinkle the salmon with garlic, ginger, and green onions before cooking.• Serve with steamed or roasted vegetables as a side dish.
