Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons of onion powder

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Prepare the Seasoning Mix

In a small bowl, combine:

  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp each of garlic powder and onion powder
  • 1 tsp each of brown sugar and kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp turmeric. Mix thoroughly to create the seasoning.

Step 2:

  • Transfer the seasoning to an airtight container or jar for storage.

Step 3:

  • Coat both sides of your steak generously with the seasoning before cooking. Let the steak rest at room temperature for 30 minutes to enhance flavor.

Step 4:

  • Grill, broil, or pan-fry the steak to your desired level of doneness.

Step 5:

  • Allow the cooked steak to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This ensures juiciness and flavor. Serve with your preferred sides and sauces.

Notes

  • Use smoked paprika for an authentic Outback Steakhouse flavor. However, regular paprika can also be used in a pinch.
  • Adjust the amount of salt and spice according to your preference. If you prefer a spicier seasoning, add more cayenne pepper or black pepper.
  • This seasoning can also be used on other meats or vegetables for a delicious and flavorful twist.
  • For an extra kick of flavor, try adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce or balsamic vinegar to the seasoning mixture before using it on your steak.
