Instructions
Step 1:
Prepare the Seasoning Mix
In a small bowl, combine:
2 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp each of garlic powder and onion powder
1 tsp each of brown sugar and kosher salt
½ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp nutmeg
⅛ tsp turmeric. Mix thoroughly to create the seasoning.
Step 2:
Transfer the seasoning to an airtight container or jar for storage.
Step 3:
Coat both sides of your steak generously with the seasoning before cooking. Let the steak rest at room temperature for 30 minutes to enhance flavor.
Step 4:
Grill, broil, or pan-fry the steak to your desired level of doneness.
Step 5:
Allow the cooked steak to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This ensures juiciness and flavor. Serve with your preferred sides and sauces.
Notes
Use smoked paprika for an authentic Outback Steakhouse flavor. However, regular paprika can also be used in a pinch.
Adjust the amount of salt and spice according to your preference. If you prefer a spicier seasoning, add more cayenne pepper or black pepper.
This seasoning can also be used on other meats or vegetables for a delicious and flavorful twist.
For an extra kick of flavor, try adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce or balsamic vinegar to the seasoning mixture before using it on your steak.
