Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 peeled, cored, and chopped pears
  • 1/2 Cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup Green Bell Pepper
  • 1/4 Tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 Cup Onion (diced)
  • 1/4 Tsp Pickling Spice
  • 1 Cups granulated sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Peel and dice the pears. Set aside. Dice the onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Set aside.
  • Combine the diced pears, onion, peppers, vinegar, sugar, salt, pickling spice, and turmeric in a large pot.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Carefully transfer the relish mixture to a blender and blend until desired consistency is reached.
  • Fill sterilized jars with the relish mixture and seal tightly. Place in the refrigerator for up to one month.

  • For a spicier flavor, add more pickling spice or add crushed red pepper flakes.
