Equipment

  • bowl
  • roasting pan
  • Simmer
  • slowcooker
  • Forks

Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick of creamy and indulgent butter 1/4 cup for a rich and luscious element that adds depth and richness to the flavors
  • 1/2 package of dry ranch dressing mix for a burst of herbaceous and tangy flavor that enhances the overall taste
  • About 5 tangy and briny pepperoncini peppers to add a zesty and slightly spicy kick to the dish
  • 2 to 2.5 pounds of succulent and tender chuck roast for a hearty and satisfying main protein
  • 1-1.5 tablespoons of flour optional to thicken the gravy and create a velvety and smooth texture if desired
  • 1/2 package of dry au jus mix to create a savory and flavorful gravy that complements the roast

Instructions

  • Place the chuck roast in the bottom of a roasting pan. Sprinkle both sides with au jus mix.
  • When it is done, place it in a slow cooker. Place butter on top of the roast, pepperoncini peppers, and sprinkle ranch dressing mix over it.
  • Cover the slow cooker, being careful to seal it tightly around the edges of the pan.
  • Cook it for approximately 8 hours or until tenderized. Once cooked, let sit for 10 minutes. Then place it cutting board & shred the meat gently using forks.
  • Place it again in the slow cooker. Add flour and stir until it’s completely mixed in with the juices. Simmer for a few minutes until desired consistency is reached. Serve over roast.

Notes

  • If you want a thicker gravy, you can add more flour. Start with 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  • You can also adjust the flavors to suit your tastes. For example, adding some garlic powder or onion powder will give the roast an extra kick.
  • If you need to speed up the cooking process, you can cook the roast in a pressure cooker for 1 hour instead of 3 hours in the oven.
  • To give the roast an extra boost of flavor, try rubbing some garlic powder and onion powder on it before roasting.
