- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the onions and sauté until softened. 
- Season the beef chuck steak with pepper, then add it to the skillet. Cook for 4 minutes per side or until lightly browned. 
- Lower the heat to medium and pour in the red wine. Cook for 1 minute, or until most of the liquid has evaporated. 
- Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme to the skillet. Stir everything together and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens. 
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the flour until well combined. Return to medium-high heat and cook for 1 minute or until lightly browned. 
- Transfer the steak to a plate, cover with aluminum foil, and let rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
