Ingredients

Creamy Base:

  • 6 ounces of rich whipping cream

Sweetness and Thickening Agent:

  • 3 teaspoons of granulated sugar
  • 3/4 tablespoon of all-purpose or bread flour

Corn Goodness:

  • 1/2 pound of frozen kernel corn

Buttery Infusion:

  • 3/4 tablespoon of melted butter

Seasonings:

  • A small pinch of white pepper
  • Salt precisely measured to taste

Finishing Touch:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized pot, melt the butter over low heat. Once the butter is melted, add in the flour and whisk together until it forms a paste.
  • Allow the butter and flour mixture to cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently. Next, slowly add in the whipping cream while continuously whisking until the mixture is smooth.
  • Add the salt, sugar, and white pepper to the cream mixture and stir until it’s combined.
  • Next, add in the thawed frozen kernel corn and continue to cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes or until the creamed corn reaches your desired consistency.
  • Stir in the Parmesan cheese and mix until it is incorporated. Serve immediately!

Notes

  • Feel free to add more butter, cream, or Parmesan cheese for an even richer flavor.
  • This creamed corn can also be served as a side dish with other classic comfort foods like macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes.
  • You can also add some chopped fresh herbs or spices to the creamed corn for a different flavor experience.
