Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons onion powder infusing the dressing with a savory and aromatic onion flavor, adding depth and complexity
  • 6 tablespoons sour cream contributing a tangy and creamy element to the dressing, adding a luscious and velvety mouthfeel
  • White wine vinegar as taste offering a subtle and bright acidity to the dressing, enhancing the overall tanginess and adding a hint of fruity flavor
  • 6 tablespoons mayonnaise adding a smooth and velvety texture to the dressing, enhancing its creaminess and richness
  • Buttermilk as required adjust to desired consistency, adding a tangy and slightly acidic note to the dressing, while also thinning it out to the desired consistency
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder providing a pungent and savory taste to the dressing, enhancing its overall flavor profile
  • Pinch of pepper adding a mild and subtle spiciness to the dressing, balancing the flavors and adding depth
  • 16 ounces of crumbled blue cheese providing a bold and tangy flavor to the dressing, adding a creamy and rich texture, and imparting a distinctive and pungent taste
  • Pinch of kosher salt enhancing the overall seasoning and flavor of the dressing, adding a touch of savory taste
  • 2 tablespoons sugar balancing the tanginess of the blue cheese and the acidity of the vinegar, adding a touch of sweetness to the dressing

Instructions

  • Mix the blue cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk in a medium bowl. Stir until all ingredients are combined well.
  • Add onion powder, garlic powder, sugar, and white wine vinegar to the mixture and stir until everything is evenly mixed.
  • Taste the dressing and adjust the flavors according to your preference by adding more seasonings if necessary.
  • Pour the finished dressing into a storage container and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. This will help thicken the dressing before it’s served with salad or other dishes.

Notes

• To make sure that you get a good flavor in every bite of your Blue Cheese Dressing, be sure to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
• If you want your dressing to be extra creamy, add more buttermilk until it reaches your desired consistency.
• To make a lighter version of this dressing, replace some of the mayonnaise and sour cream with Greek yogurt.
• You can also add finely diced vegetables or herbs to give the dressing added flavor and texture.
