Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 4 cups roughly chopped fresh kale providing a vibrant green color and a hint of earthy bitterness, adding a nutritional boost to the drink.
  • 3 cups water providing hydration and acting as the base for the refreshing beverage.
  • 40 chilled green or muscat grapes delivering a sweet and juicy essence, balancing the flavors and adding a natural sweetness to the drink.
  • 24 ice cubes chilling and providing a refreshing texture, ensuring the beverage is cool and invigorating.
  • 2 teaspoons Stevia providing a natural and zero-calorie sweetener, allowing for a guilt-free indulgence.
  • 2 organic ripe green apples offering a crisp and slightly tart flavor, adding a natural sweetness to the drink.
  • 1 cup roughly chopped fresh mint infusing the beverage with a refreshing and cooling aroma, adding a burst of freshness to each sip.
  • 2 limes offering a tangy and citrusy taste, adding a zesty and refreshing element to the beverage.
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon adding a warm and aromatic note, enhancing the overall flavor profile with its comforting and slightly spicy taste.
  • 2 organic ripe green pears contributing a delicate and juicy taste, enhancing the overall fruity profile of the beverage.

Instructions

  • In a blender, combine water, apple, pear, kale, mint, grapes, ice cubes, cinnamon, and stevia. Blend until smooth.
  • Add in the juice of one lime and blend again until the mixture is uniform. If you prefer your greenie sweeter add more Stevia to taste.
  • Pour the greenie into a glass and enjoy! You can garnish with additional mint or lime wedges if desired.

Notes

  • If you prefer a thicker texture, reduce the amount of water in the recipe or add more ice cubes.
  • To make it sweeter, add more grapes or a smidge of honey.
  • For an extra boost, add in your favorite superfood powder like spirulina or maca root powder.
  • To make it a bit zestier, throw in a couple of mint leaves for added flavor.
  • If you prefer a less tart flavor, reduce the amount of lime juice used in the recipe.
  • For an extra dose of vitamins and minerals, add a handful of spinach or kale for an added plant-based boost.
  • For those who are dairy free, you can substitute almond milk or coconut milk for the water used in the recipe.
  • If you prefer your smoothie on the colder side, add some frozen fruit or extra ice cubes to the mix.
  • If you want a smoothie that is less filling, reduce the amount of apple and pear used in the recipe.
  • This greenie is also great for a post-workout snack as it contains all-natural sugars, fiber, and protein.
  • To make it a bit creamier, add some plain Greek yogurt or a scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder.
  • If you don't have access to fresh mint, dried mint can be used as well. Just add it in at the beginning with the other ingredients and blend until incorporated.
