Equipment

  • medium mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 jalapeño pepper deseeded and chopped
  • 1 1/4 cups plain strained Greek yogurt

Instructions

Step 1: Mix the Base

  • In a medium mixing bowl, you’ll begin by combining the plain strained Greek yogurt, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and olive oil. Give this a good stir until the ingredients meld together nicely. This creamy mixture will serve as the foundation of your dip.

Step 2: Season It Up

  • Next, add in the minced garlic and dried dill weed. Stir until everything is combined. Now’s also the time to add the smoked paprika and sea salt. This mix should already smell fabulous, but we’re not done yet!

Step 3: The Stars of the Show

  • It’s jalapeño time! Take your deseeded and chopped jalapeño and gently fold it into the mixture. Taste as you go; you can always adjust if you want more zing. At this point, you can also add more paprika if you prefer a smokier flavor.

Step 4: Fresh Herb Finish

  • Lastly, add in the fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness. This will make your dip visually appealing and add a layer of flavor. Mix everything until well combined.

Step 5: Chill Out

  • For the best flavor, cover your dip and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully. You’ll be amazed at how a little patience can reward you with mouthwatering results!

Notes

  • Adjust Spice Level: You control the heat! Don’t hesitate to add more or fewer jalapeños based on your preference.
  • Make Ahead: This dip can be made a day in advance. In fact, it often tastes better after a night in the fridge.
  • Swap Greek Yogurt: If you prefer a different base, you can use sour cream or a dairy-free yogurt option. Just know that the taste will slightly differ.
  • Fresh vs. Dried Herbs: Fresh herbs can add a brighter flavor, but dried works well. Adjust your measurements to taste!
  • Experiment with Add-Ins: Try adding crumbled feta cheese for an extra tang or a hint of lime zest for brightness.
